Rabbi Cohen is the Senior Rabbi of Congregation Agudath Sholom in Stamford, CT. Rabbi Cohen joined CAS as our spiritual leader on August 1, 2005.

Rabbi Cohen was previously the spiritual leader of Beth Midrash Hagadol-Beth Joseph in Denver, Colorado for three years. Born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, Rabbi Cohen is a graduate of Yeshiva University in New York and its Azrieli Graduate School. He received his rabbinic ordination from Yeshiva University’s Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary. He and wife, Diane, were married while he was still a student. After his ordination he and his wife spent a year in Israel and returned to the States to serve as an assistant Rabbi in West Orange, New Jersey. His first pulpit as a senior rabbi was in West Hartford where he spent about seven years in which time he doubled their membership. Rabbi Cohen then moved on to a much larger synagogue in Denver.

Rabbi Cohen has catalyzed the Stamford Jewish community and helped the CAS family reach new achievements.

CAS is uniquely positioned to offer multiple gateways of spiritual connection for a diverse Jewish population while increasing the joy and relevancy of Judaism in people’s lives. We have expanded the synagogue's membership, developed new programs, and built a new mikveh. With God’s help, we will strengthen CAS as a beacon of Jewish unity, learning and living for many years to come.
